3 days, 3 quotes: day 3 |tag

It’s time to wrap up my first tag! I realised today that I haven’t posted the rules for this tag in my previous two posts (rookie mistake!) so I do apologise for that.

So here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day).
  3. Nominate three new bloggers each day.

This quote I came across very recently; in fact it is from the book I am currently reading ‘The Crimson Petal and the White’ by Michel Faber. I found it quite surprising as I have found this novel isn’t really one for inspirational quotes!

It really struck a chord with me. I have recently finished university and due to graduate really soon, but I’m not really sure what career I wish to pursue yet (or rather I do know what I want to pursue, but all of the options seem at bit out of reach at the moment). To cover the bills I am working an office admin job, and although I enjoy it for the most part, my heart isn’t really in it. This quote does make me feel like I’m wasting my time away in a job I never pictured myself doing just for the money and sometimes I feel like I’ve let myself down because this job was not what I had planned. What keeps me going is knowing that everything happens for a reason, and that this job may open doors for me and potentially lead me to a career I love. I also try and remind myself to be grateful for having a job and being able to pay rent and bills.
